Background:  since 1972 I have been engaged in the PVC industry, working with polymer producers, compounders, and reprocessers, in both technical and commercial functions.

In 1999, together with a colleague we founded SCSVinyls Ltd, its prime activity being to sell virgin PVC compounds, both rigid and flexible grades to the UK market.  We were also successful in gaining business with the sales of reprocessed PVC compounds.  At the end of SCSVinyls third financial year, the 2 directors chose to go our separate ways, and on 1 November 2003, Sutton Polymers Ltd was born.

 

Activities:  Sutton Polymers has 3 main product areas, all involved with the sales and marketing of:

Virgin PVC compounds: For the last six years I have worked with a major UK PVC compound manufacturer, and have been able to match their strengths to Sutton Polymers customers needs.

Second-generation PVC compounds, in either regrind or reprocessed form: Reprocessed/regrind compounds in particularly in rigid form, has been a growth area, which we are keen to expand further.

Masterbatches: These take many forms, we have worked with 3 manufacturing companies to meet the needs of our main customers.

Aural Plastics of Willenhall, West Midlands, make colour masterbatches on a made to order basis.  This enables our customers to receive the colour shade most suited to the polymer base they wish to process.  Their normal minimum batch size is 25kgs, but we recognise that some jobs may only require 10kgs, so we are happy to oblige on the odd occasion.  Aural have to compete with other Masterbatch suppliers who may be able to supply from stock, so whilst next day service is difficult, it is never impossible.

PVC Masterbatch sales are a logical fit into Sutton Polymers portfolio, and over the last 12 months we have developed a close working relationship with Colourtone to promote their Vynacol grades, in both rigid and flexible applications.  This has been a qualified success and further market penetration will occur.

Sutton Polymers assist MHF Chemicals Ltd, the UK distributor for Sitra masterbatches, which are produced in Naples, Italy.  These commodity masterbatches are essentially Black and White Polyolefin based grades, with a wide product range available from our UK warehouse.  This allows a good supply service to be offered.

 

Whilst Sutton Polymers Ltd main activities centre on PVC products, because of its founders involvement in this market sector for 30+ years, we are keen to explore other new avenues.  We are currently examining the market for recycling non-PVC products, and a further paragraph to this web page will be added when we have something to offer.
